FAQs
It really is that simple.
What should I expect from a Reveal?
Photorealistic images of your room reimagined three different ways, based on what we hear from you at your home visit. They're a starting point: enough to know which direction excites you. A Plan is where we refine the details into a finished design.
Can I see more Reveal directions?
Yes. Beyond your three, we can create additional Reveals for a modest fee.
Where do you work?
We serve homeowners in the greater Seattle area today (King and Snohomish counties), and we're expanding region by region. Worth asking even if you're just outside.
How long does this take?
You get your Reveals in as little as 2 days after your home visit. New deliverables follow within 2 to 4 days of your feedback, so you lead the pace. We'll propose a full timeline alongside your Reveal, so you know what to expect before deciding whether to keep going.
How is Premodel different from a designer, architect, or design-build firm?
We're your first hire, and a lower-cost, lower-effort way to figure out what you want before you commit to anyone else. We help you determine what your project actually needs, then assemble the team (designer, architect, contractor) as part of your Plan.
Do I have to use your contractors?
No. Your Reveal and your Plan are yours to keep, and to take to whichever builder you choose. The three-bid intro is the optional last step of a Plan, never a requirement.

Anna G.'s master bath reconfigure
Master bath · Edmonds, WA
Every idea I had sounded right on its own. It wasn't until I could walk through the space that I understood how each decision affected everything around it.
Anna's master bath remodel started with fragments, not a plan. Shower by the picture window? Or maybe under the skylight, with the tub tucked behind it? She also knew she wanted more storage, a door on the water closet, and to get rid of the glass block wall that had been bothering her since she moved in. Each idea lived on its own, disconnected from what it would mean for everything else.
Three layout options gave her real choices to react to rather than a blank page. What looked workable in the floor plans felt different at real scale — walking through the space in VR, she found that the configuration she'd been drawn to felt more confining than the 2D image suggested. The layout she landed on resolved everything: storage, privacy, flow. She never looked back.
From there, seeing three distinctly different style directions in her actual space — the flooring, the tile, the cabinets and countertops — made the decision feel intuitive rather than overwhelming. The final design started as one of those options and became something more personal over time. She got exactly the bathroom she'd seen in the renders. For most remodels, that's a dream. For Anna, it was The Plan.
Sasha A.'s full floor reconfigure
Full home renovation · Edmonds, WA
We finally stopped debating and started deciding. Our contractor finished on time, on budget, with no surprises because there was nothing left to figure out.
Sasha and her family had inherited a house, a fixed budget, and a hard move-in deadline, and they were drowning! Every day brought new ideas from Instagram, Pinterest, and Houzz, but none of it added up to a plan. The whole main floor needed to work for how a modern family actually lives: an entry and drop zone for the kids' gear, brighter rooms, sightlines that connected the space instead of carving it up. The style they kept coming back to had arches, exposed beams, mullioned windows — none of which their house had. They couldn't see how to get there without blowing the budget, and the pressure got bad enough that they seriously considered abandoning the whole thing and selling the house.
VR was where it finally came together. Walking the structural options, they could feel how much an arch or a run of beams actually mattered to them — which elements were worth investing in and which they could let go. The abstract debates that had been spinning for weeks turned into decisions they could stand inside and judge. Choosing materials worked the same way: instead of drowning in disconnected options, they paired everything interactively until the look resolved.
By the time construction started, there was nothing left to debate. Their contractor finished on time and on budget, which almost never happens for a full-home renovation. It happened here because every decision had already been made, and everyone had already seen it.
K.B.'s new-build kitchen
New-build kitchen · Seattle, WA
I didn't think I needed the VR walkthrough. I had no idea what I was missing until I was standing in my virtual kitchen looking up at the ceiling height.
K.B. was building new, which sounds like the clean-slate scenario until you realize a floor plan only tells half the story. She had the footprint, but no elevations — the vertical dimension where so many decisions actually live. She'd been collecting materials she loved with no clear way to bring them together, and figured what she needed was help picking finishes.
VR showed her the decisions she didn't know she was missing. In a ten-foot space, how high should the cabinets go? How should they be configured? What happens to the ceiling and lighting above the island? Standing in the room made these impossible to ignore — and surfaced one she'd never have caught on paper: a cabinet layout that wasn't quite symmetrical, exactly the kind of thing that would have quietly bothered her forever. All of it resolved before the contractor was ready to build.
Then came the materials she'd actually come for. Configuring her finishes interactively, she could finally see what worked together: dark chocolate flooring versus red undertones, solid panel cabinets versus reeded glass, black countertops versus white. She wanted clean and modern with a little visual interest, and could test exactly where that line was. When a few of her first picks turned out to be unavailable, she could see the alternatives looked just as good — no leap of faith required.
Jenn S.'s basement reconfigure
ADU · Bellevue, WA
Premodel saved me from making an expensive mistake that would have bothered me every time I used the space.
Jenn's basement had been collecting storage for years. The plan was to convert it into a self-contained ADU. She had the rooms placed and a clear vision for the kitchen: a U-shape that maximized counter space. She was confident. She thought she was ready to build.
VR changed everything. The U-shaped kitchen felt immediately wrong the moment she was standing in it. It felt claustrophobic. Two people in the kitchen at the same time wasn't really an option. The open dishwasher door trapped whoever was at the sink. The pantry was only accessible if you walked around the peninsula to get to it. And anyone sitting at the counter would have their back to the windows with the nice view. In the bathroom, a shower with a 45-degree angled entry looked fine on a floor plan but felt too small to actually turn around in comfortably. The original design also put a desk in the bedroom which was logical on paper. But standing in the virtual layout, it was obvious the dining table by the windows was where anyone would actually want to sit and work.
The finishes also got changed after seeing them in VR. Darker cabinets and wood tones that matched the rest of the house made the space feel like a cave; lighter finishes kept it open.
Jenn had been ready to build the wrong thing with total confidence. Instead, she built the right thing with the same confidence, but no unpleasant surprises.
